Find the words as fast as you can

This program can no longer be downloaded

Personally, I'm a bit of a word game addict, so I jumped at the chance to try out TapWord on my iPhone.

The game charges you with the task of finding as many words as possible from a grid within three minutes. To make words in TapWord you need to hold down the start letter then drag your finger across the letters you wish to include. This is easier said than done though. I don't consider myself to have particularly fat fingers, but I often ended up dragging my finger over the wrong letters and messing up the word. I felt the tiles could've been made a little bit bigger to eradicate this problem.

This glitch isn't bad enough to ruin your enjoyment of TapWord, and there's plenty of fun to be had with the game. There are two different grid sizes to choose from (3x3 or4x4) and you can opt to use a standard word list or a lite word list.

At the end of every game you are shown a list of all the possible words you could've had, and shows you the percentage of words in this list that you managed to find. Then you can submit your score to the TapWord online scoreboard.

Despite its clunky touch interface, TapWord offers addictive word-based fun for all the family.

PROS

  • Fun, addictive gameplay
  • Online high scores
  • Two grid sizes

CONS

  • Tiles are a little too small
